Winch is probably the application which has been more subjected to layout modifications in the last decades. Originally seen as a driven drum reel, today it is seen as a compact system characterized by high reliability.

In the winches, La Leonessa slewing rings are used as sustaining and rotating elements, with the aim to multiply and transfer to the drum the torque generated by the planetary gearboxes engaging with the slewing ring gear.
