thrusters

Among the applications for the marine market, thrusters represent one of the most innovative and revolutionary solutions available nowadays. They concurrently manage thrust and directional functions. The entire group has to be designed in order to provide the maximum reliability and functionality.

Hull
La Leonessa slewing rings are used as interface between the thruster and the hull. Their aim is to transfer the entire thrust to the structure allowing its guiding, at the presence of high thermal gradients generated between the inside and the outside of the system. The high radial spin and the induced overtuning moments require the use of spacers with a particularly low friction coeficient and internal operative controlled clearance. Given to this type of application, a 3.2 certification is required as a standard.
